A little rant about some of the appalling safety issues by the UFC tonight involving the Barcelos situation:
It’s fucking disgusting that one of the biggest leagues on planet earth cannot provide proper updates and safely transport their fighters after a serious health emergency, in a sport where injury and hurt are the norm. In many other big leagues, they immediately stop all action and make sure the person is 1000% stable before moving on. The UFC quite literally threw Raoni on a stretcher, while still fully unconscious and unresponsive, mouthpiece still in, and did not even attempt to perform any life saving intervention. No oxygen, no CPR, just threw him on a board and shipped him out while they allowed the commentary to talk about how “clinical and good Raul was.” I know this changes nothing but I genuinely feel sick to my stomach that this is the combat sports leader. Gross world out there.
