Dabur reports 15% rise in quarterly profit as price hikes offset inflation pressures
FMCG major Dabur India reported a 15% year-on-year increase in quarterly profit, driven by strategic price hikes and steady demand for its personal care products and packaged foods despite rising raw material and packaging costs.
For the quarter ended June 30, the company posted a net profit of ₹5.91 billion, while revenue climbed 11% to ₹37.64 billion. Dabur's India consumer business recorded 5% volume growth, supported by strong sales through e-commerce platforms and modern retail channels, alongside resilient demand from rural markets.
Commenting on the performance, Global CEO Mohit Malhotra said that judicious price increases helped the company navigate the current inflationary environment. Dabur also expects its FY2027 margins to exceed last year's levels, although the pace of profit growth will depend on how geopolitical developments, particularly in the Middle East, evolve.
The company noted that conflict-related disruptions impacted its international operations, with revenue from the Middle East and North Africa declining 5.4% on a constant-currency basis, while other international markets continued to register growth.

Kangana Ranaut calls Gen Z 'Generation Gutter' amid NEET protest controversy
Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has sparked fresh controversy after referring to sections of Generation Z as "Generation Gutter" in a series of Instagram posts following the recent NEET protest.
She criticized the language used in protest videos, describing it as "jarring" and "crass," while questioning the upbringing of some participants.
Ranaut also took aim at what she described as "so-called westernised Indian women," arguing that independence should be accompanied by responsibility and accountability.
Her remarks quickly triggered strong reactions on social media, with critics accusing her of making sweeping generalizations about an entire generation and dismissing the concerns of young protesters.

Delhi High Court orders removal of 'Kala Hiran' teaser linked to Salman Khan
The Delhi High Court has directed the makers of Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy to remove the film's teaser and related promotional content from social media after actor Salman Khan sought interim relief, alleging that the material violated his personality rights and unfairly linked him to the 1998 blackbuck poaching case.
The court observed that the teaser had the potential to harm the actor's reputation and ordered its removal within 24 hours.
During the hearing, Justice Jyoti Singh emphasized the importance of protecting an individual's reputation, observing that "Reputation once lost is lost," and noting that even a brief period of public circulation could cause irreparable harm.
The court also directed the removal of interviews and other promotional material by producer Amit Jani that allegedly connected the film to Salman Khan.
According to Salman Khan's plea, although the actor is not named directly, the teaser allegedly features a lookalike wearing his signature blue bracelet along with visual references that make him easily identifiable.
The petition argues that the film commercially exploits his identity, infringes his personality rights, and could prejudice ongoing legal proceedings related to the blackbuck case.
The filmmakers have stated that they respect the Delhi High Court's order but intend to challenge the decision before the Supreme Court, maintaining that the matter also concerns the constitutional protection of artistic expression.
