I am happy to be back in Anchorage! Keep an eye out for me at community events, talking with neighbors at their doors, and working through legislation throughout the interim. As always, please contact me anytime if you have any questions.
Today is the start of Pride Month! In June we celebrate the LGBTQIA2S+ community. The most recent legislature included the most LGBTQIA2S+ legislators in Alaska’s history. I was honored to have worked closely with these members and greatly value their perspective.
The Alaska House Coalition stands ready to help pass a permanent increase to the base student allocation, a modest pension for public employees, and a match for federal funding improving our energy grid. #akleg#RaisetheAKBSA#pensionsforpublicservice
With one week left in the regular legislative session, we have a lot of work left to do. That said, I remain committed to helping this legislature find workable solutions to the education funding, workforce development, and cost of energy crisis before we adjourn.
Thank you Representative Hannan, Himschoot, Dibert, Josephson and Ortiz for your lifelong commitment to education and advocacy in our state. #akleg#RaisetheAKBSA
AAPI people play a unique and important role in Alaska's history and I am honored to work with people who keep their memory and legacy alive. #akleg#AAPIHM
May is Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) heritage month! Last week, I met with Make Us Visible, an AAPI advocacy organization who were at the Capitol advocating for Asian American and Pacific Islander history to be taught in Alaska’s schools.

Happy Alaska Constitution Day! The people of Alaska ratified our State’s constitution 67 years ago today and every ten years Alaskans decide if we should make changes to the constitution or keep it the same.
Unfortunately, the final product was not good enough and projected an unrealistic dividend that will have to be reduced by the Senate. I remain optimistic we can work together through the rest of the process to pass a budget that reflects the priorities of all Alaskans. #akleg
The House passed the operating the budget this week. Myself and the House Coalition worked hard to improve the budget, offering amendments to address energy, public safety, education and more. (1)
This week, we will be working through the operating budget and considering amendments on the House floor. I am ready to stand up for education funding, child care, and many other important issues facing Alaskans. Watch live at https://t.co/VBHnLFlfnA. #akleg#RaisetheAKBSA
Students marched through the Capitol today, showing legislators what democracy looks like. Students have seen their opportunities diminished year after year. I was honored to join them in expressing their frustration. This legislature
should listen to them. #RaisetheAKBSA#akleg
It's always a pleasure to have a constituent visit me here in Juneau! Thank you, Rick and Ross, for meeting with me to discuss Alaska's recreational and personal-use fishing rights. Like them, I am committed to ensuring all Alaskans have access to sustainable fisheries! #akleg
Last week, I met with the NEA Alaska board to discuss next steps for ensuring our students have access to a quality education. I am honored to be able to work with a dedicated group of Alaskans who are focused on our future. #akleg#raisetheakbsa
It’s time to vote, Anchorage! Your Anchorage election ballot has been mailed. You can return your ballot at a drop box location, by mail, or at one of three Anchorage Vote Centers. Secure drop box and Vote Centers can be found at https://t.co/CLdSnxyjHz. #anchoragevotes
Last night the House overwhelmingly passed a bill increasing internet speeds in underserved schools across Alaska. I hope the Senate and the Governor will act quickly to make this bill law. Students are counting on us to give them the tools they need to achieve success. #akleg
Alaskan students were left behind today. The bipartisan education package would have made significant investments in public education, improved internet for schools, and provided resources for improving reading skills. I will not move on from education. #akleg#RaisetheAKBSA
