Protecting the American people is one of the federal government’s most fundamental responsibilities. Today, I voted to pass the Secure America Act, which provides long-term funding for border security and immigration enforcement and invests in efforts to combat drug and human trafficking.
Border security is national security, and @HouseGOP are fighting to ensure the men and women who enforce our laws have the resources they need to keep Americans safe.
82 years ago today, Operation Overlord commenced as thousands of American and Allied troops landed on the beaches of Normandy in the largest amphibious assault in history. Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to the cause of freedom helped liberate Europe and change the course of history.
As we prepare to celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary, D-Day reminds us that the blessings of liberty have been secured and preserved by generations of Americans who answered their nation’s call in its hours of need. Today, we honor those heroes. We owe them a debt we can never repay.
Today, I voted to support America’s farmers and ranchers, strengthen rural communities, promote President Trump’s make America healthy Again agenda, and reduce our dependence on foreign competitors.
The FY27 Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration Appropriations Act puts American producers and consumers first while restoring regular order and fiscal responsibility.
Every year, half a trillion dollars is burned up and wasted because fraudsters and scammers are involved. That's $4,000 per American household every year totally wasted.
Republicans in Congress are tirelessly working on this to restore accountability and get our nation's fiscal house back in order because that's what people demand and deserve.
Today marks the first day of the 2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season. As Floridians, we are familiar with the damage hurricanes and tropical storms can bring. Now is the time to prepare.
It’s important to begin assembling an emergency supply kit with essential items your family may need in the event of a storm or other emergency. The @FLSERT offers valuable resources, including the Disaster Supply Kit Checklist, to help families build an emergency kit and develop a plan before severe weather arrives.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. It is a solemn reminder that the liberties we enjoy today were secured by heroes who gave their last full measure of devotion. As we prepare to celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary, we remember the generations of patriots who answered the call to serve and gave everything for our country. We owe them a debt we can never repay.
.@POTUS to the @USCGAcademy Class of 2026: "Very soon, you'll swap your Shoulder Boards and you'll join the long Blue Line of legendary rescuers, seafarers, and servicemembers that fill American hearts with admiration and pride." 🇺🇸
For years, I’ve called on Congress to return to regular order by advancing individual appropriations bills. Today, I voted to fulfill this responsibility by passing the FY2027 Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Act to strengthen military readiness, support our service members and military families, and ensure veterans receive the care and benefits they earned.
Sandy and I are heartbroken by the loss of Spc. Mariyah Collington and 1st Lt. Kendrick Key Jr., two American heroes who tragically lost their lives during a training mission in Morocco.
Spc. Collington, a young soldier from Tavares, answered the call to serve our nation with courage, patriotism, and selfless commitment to something greater than herself. At just 19 years old, she represented the very best of our country.
I am praying for their families, friends, and fellow soldiers during this incredibly difficult time. May God comfort all those mourning this tragic loss, and may we always honor the sacrifice of those who wear our nation’s uniform.
The Army has recovered the remains of Spc. Mariyah Symone Collington, 19, the second U.S. soldier who went missing during an off-duty hike in Morocco after a military exercise.
The remains of another soldier, 1st Lt. Kendrick Lamont Key Jr., were recovered last week.
Both soldiers were reported missing May 2 after participating in African Lion exercises and are believed to have fallen from a coastal cliff, ending a challenging multinational search effort.
During National Police Week, we honor the brave men and women in law enforcement who put on the badge every day to keep our communities safe. These officers courageously answer the call to serve – often at great personal sacrifice – to protect our families, defend our neighborhoods, and uphold law and order.
Today and every day, we thank our law enforcement officers and remember those who lost their lives in the line of duty.
I will always stand with our police and remain committed to ensuring they have the training, tools, and resources they need to keep our communities safe.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of former United States Congressman Bill Posey, who passed away yesterday surrounded by the love of his family.
Bill dedicated his life to serving the people of Florida and our nation with integrity, humility, and an unwavering commitment to public service. His passing marks the end of a remarkable career that spanned decades of leadership at the local, state, and federal levels. He approached public office not as a path to personal recognition, but as a solemn responsibility to serve others honorably, faithfully, and effectively.
His legacy will endure through the countless lives he touched, the communities he strengthened, and the values he championed throughout his years of service. Those who knew Bill personally understood that beyond the titles and accomplishments was a kind, grounded, and deeply loyal man who loved his family above all else.
During this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with his wife and childhood sweetheart, Katie, and their two daughters, Cathi and Pamela. We also extend our heartfelt condolences to the entire Posey family, his friends, former staff members, and all who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside him. May they find comfort in the extraordinary impact of his life and service.
Congressman Posey represented Florida in the United States House of Representatives from 2009 to 2025, following distinguished service in both the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate. Throughout his career, he earned a reputation as a principled conservative, a steadfast advocate for fiscal responsibility and government transparency, and a tireless supporter of America’s space program and the communities he proudly represented along Florida’s Space Coast.
Bill Posey will be remembered with gratitude, admiration, and profound respect. His dedication to public service, his love for Florida, and his steadfast belief in the promise of America will never be forgotten.
It was great to join the Kiwanis Club of Clermont this morning to celebrate the National Day of Prayer.
In times of challenge and blessing, American’s have turned to pray for Gods wisdom, strength, and hope. Today, and every day, let us pray for our country, for our brave armed forces, first responders, for our communities, and for the next generation of Americans.
I hope you will join me in praying that God continues to guide, protect, and bless this great nation.
In coordination with our airline partners, we’re taking ACTION to bring relief to Spirit customers and its workforce.
From capped ticket prices for flyers who need to rebook to employees looking for job opportunities, there’s a lot of information you should be aware of.
Here’s the latest ⬇️
CAPPED TICKET PRICES
United, Delta, JetBlue, & Southwest are all capping ticket prices specifically for Spirit customers who now need to rebook cancelled flights.
To access these special prices, individuals will need to provide at a minimum a Spirit flight confirmation number and proof of payment.
Please refer to each individual airlines website for additional specifics.
REDUCED FARES
For any consumers worried about higher prices, American Airlines and Delta Air Lines are offering reduced fares on high-volume Spirit routes. Allegiant has also committed to freezing fare prices across routes that overlap with Spirit. To support impacted travelers, Frontier is offering up to 50% off base fares across its network until May 10.
EMPLOYEE SUPPORT
Most major U.S. carriers are extending travel pass benefits and spare jump seats to Spirit pilots, flight attendants, and other employees who need to return home. They have also offered Spirit team members preferential employment interviews to ensure they jump the queue.
Both American Airlines and United are creating microsites for Spirit employees looking to continue a career in aviation.
Refresher on Compensation Rules:
Per Spirit — the airline will automatically process refunds for any flight purchased through via credit card or debit card.
Ticket holders can also:
1. Contact your credit card company: If you purchased your ticket with a credit card, you may be protected under the Fair Credit Billing Act. Contact your issuer to request a "chargeback" for services not rendered.
2. Check your travel insurance: If you have travel insurance, contact your provider to see if your policy covers “insolvency” or “service cessation.”
3. File a bankruptcy claim: You may file a formal "proof of claim" with the bankruptcy court. Please note that this process can take time and may only result in a partial refund.
.@POTUS: Today, we delivered a huge win for our great fishermen and anglers here in Florida. We've just officially approved ALL STATE PERMITS for the 2026 Red Snapper recreational season.
Thank you @POTUS! It has been an honor and a privilege to represent the great state of Florida. My work is not done though, and I will continue to fight this Congress to put Americans First!
