In Louisiana (after having served time for a felony) you must pay taxes and can eventually serve in the State Legislature; but you cannot serve on a jury. Makes no sense. Thank you @EdwardTedJames for fighting for smart and equitable policies. We have work to do.
Thank you, Sen. @RepWesleyBishop for your continued work in expanding postsecondary opportunities for #LaEd students! We were proud to join you at the table in support of SR 10. The resolution passed and now heads to the full Senate! #TOPS#LaLege
Sen. @RepWesleyBishop is up in Senate Transportation with bill to designate Interstate 10 in Louisiana as the "Who Dat Nation Highway." Rather than name I-10, instead he'll add "Home of the Who Dat Nation" to the welcome signs that motorists see when they enter Louisiana. #lalege

Celebration crew!! The ERA passed out of committee and it’s moving on! We are ready to make history and be the last state needed to ratify the ERA to US Constitution #LaRatifyERA#MakeLa38
A few us were distracted & accidentally voted for SB221.
#SB221 is one of those seemingly innocuous bills w/ a friendly name that targets reproductive rights
2nd Journal correction in my 14 years of being in #lalege . . . #Aargh#SoEmbarrassing w/ @TROYSEE@RepWesleyBishop
Look, 80% of Louisianans have said they support raising our minimum wage.
That’s why I’m asking the legislature to give YOU a vote on it.
Let the people of Louisiana decide what’s best for them and their families.
Full schedule for the March and Lobby day April 9th!!
RSVP for the events on Facebook @ laratifyera
Who doesn’t want “equality of rights under the law” protected in the US Consitution?! #LaRatifyERA#ERAYes#MakeLa38
Jailing children puts them in danger & makes them more likely to commit crimes in the future. This year we're proud to work with @mbwhite67 & @RepPaulaDavis on a bill that will reduce the unnecessary use of detention & all the harm it does to kids & public safety. #lalege#lagov
