I spoke on the House floor today for the final time, sharing my gratitude for this opportunity to serve my fellow Virginians.
Together, we've made positive change in our community and shown there is real good to be done through public service.
#VA10, I hope I've made you proud.
Today is my final day serving as #VA10’s representative in Washington.
To the people of Virginia’s 10th District, thank you for putting your trust in me to be your voice in Congress. Serving my community has been the honor of a lifetime.
From my earliest days in public service as a prosecutor to turning my recent health struggle into advocacy for better brain health & disability rights, I’ve worked hard to make sure the stories of Virginia’s families were heard & fight for your needs. I hope I’ve made you proud.
President Jimmy Carter was the epitome of decency and the prime example of a public servant.
His life and legacy will inspire Americans for generations to come. My thoughts are with his family and loved ones and the many who looked up to him.
From my family to yours, wishing a very Merry Christmas and happy Hanukkah this evening!
I hope your celebrations are filled with joy, love, and peace.
Gabriella Miller was a courageous Virginian who gave her all to advocating for pediatric cancer research. I’m honored to have worked with her family and @RepWexton to pass a bipartisan bill to reauthorize a pediatric cancer research program I helped created in her honor in 2014.
Gabriella was a courageous fighter and an inspiring advocate. This bill will change lives in her memory.
Thank you to all those who pushed to get this across the finish line, especially @SenTimKaine and the relentless efforts of Gabriella’s mom, Ellyn, and her family.
BIG NEWS: The Senate just PASSED my Gabriella Miller Kids First Research Act 2.0!
This has been a top priority since the day I came to Congress.
I’m so proud we’ve delivered lifesaving funding so one day no family has to face the fear and pain of their child’s cancer diagnosis.
@rosadelauro Thank you, @rosadelauro, for such kind words and your unending support. It’s been an honor to fight alongside you on behalf of America’s kids and families.
When I reintroduced the Kids First bill back in 2021, I spoke w/Gabriella’s mom, Ellyn, about her daughter’s courageous cancer battle & advocacy.
Extreme Republicans chose billionaire tax cuts over childhood cancer research.
In Gabriella’s words, “Talk is BS. We need action.”
I’ve been fighting to fund the Gabriella Miller Kids First childhood cancer research program since the day I came to Congress.
It has wide bipartisan support.
Now extreme Republicans are caving to the world’s richest man so he & Donald Trump can pay for their personal tax cuts.
And there you have it. New bill removes funding for this bipartisan child cancer research program. $190 million -- a small drop comparatively -- is now gone. will need to be passed at some other point, if it can get passed at all.

#VA10, I hope I've made you proud.
My heart breaks for the families of the killed and injured in this horrific act of gun violence at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison.
Our children do not deserve to live like this. We must do better to keep our kids and our schools safe.

The EPA's decision to ban TCE, a harmful toxin which is linked to Parkinson's Disease and other health issues, is a significant step to make Americans healthier and safer.
I submitted a public comment letter in support of the proposed ban last year. Read my full statement ⬇️
This is big news to expand local manufacturing and bring new science & tech jobs to #VA10.
I was proud to support CHIPS & Science Act & deliver a historic federal investment in businesses like Micron to strengthen global competitiveness & bring jobs home.

A disability doesn’t define who you are or what you can achieve.
This International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we celebrate all that those with disabilities do to change the world for the better and work towards more accessible and inclusive communities.

It’s been two years without my friend, Rep. Donald McEachin.
He gave me the encouragement I needed to run for Congress, invoking Thomas Paine’s words to rise above the summer soldier and sunshine patriot.
I miss his wisdom and deep commitment to public service every day.
There’s no better champion for affordable health care and disability rights than the @LittleLobbyists.
It’s been such an honor to work alongside these inspiring young people and their families since my very first day in Congress.

This Transgender Day of Remembrance I’m thinking about every trans person whose life was tragically taken in an act of hate. Today and everyday, we must all stand against transphobic violence and bigotry targeting the LGBTQ+ community wherever it occurs.
