First time at the “Well” accompanied by my fellow healthcare providers, Representative Eplee, Representative Bryce, and Representative Clifford.
Thank you District 37 for electing the first Nurse Practitioner to Kansas legislature.
It has been my honor and privilege to serve the citizens of Kansas as a state representative in the Kansas House for 12 years. I announced my retirement this week but I will stay engaged and involved in the community I love . I am thankful for this remarkable experience!
A sincere and very humble thank you to the NAACP chapter of Olathe, Overland Park and Leawood for this award at their ML King dinner Monday night. #NAACP
Dr. Jennifer Watts, Children’s Mercy pediatrician and medical director for emergency preparedness, begging schools require masks. Kids need to be in school, masks keep them in school by decreasing spread among students and teachers #ksleg#ksed
The #ksleg will gavel in amidst a crisis in our hospitals. Doctors across KS are asking for a State of Emergency Declaration to address staffing shortages. People are suffering in our ERs, because staffed beds aren’t available. We must respond to their reasonable plea for help!
KU Hospital is reporting 120 covid patients today (up from 108 yesterday). 6 of them fully vaccinated. Does #ksleg know? How many of our state leaders are publicly and consistently encouraging vaccination? Some are, but most aren't. https://t.co/TvyeFMyity
This is it. After 41 years at KMBC, much longer in the news biz, is my last day as a regular reporter. Will continue to help on political coverage. E-mail & phone stay the same. Thank you for letting me tell our stories. @kmbc

Kansans need as much information as possible when making the decision on whether to get the COVID vaccine. The data shows the vast majority of patients hospitalized with COVID are unvaccinated. We’ll continue to provide additional data as it becomes available.
One thing that I find particularly positive is the fact that Johnson Countians want to be represented with Wyandotte as a unified community. So much for the whole JoCo vs WyCo myth. #kslegredistricting#ksleg
