RERA Act says, promoter is responsible to rectify any structural defect free of cost in a completed project within five years from the date of completion if it is brought to the notice of the promoter by allottee. In case of non-compliance, aggrieved allottee may file a case.

As per RERA Act Promoter shall not make any alterations in sanctioned plans without previous written consent of at least two-thirds of the allottees who have agreed to take apartments in such building.

Rights of customers are protected as per the provisions of RERA Act if they invest in a RERA registered project.
Hence, it is suggested that registration number of a project, which starts with the letters BRERAP, must be checked before investing in a real estate project.

First such reward was given on 14.12.2023 by RERA Bihar to one such informant. His name is not being shared as per the policy.

On July 15, 2021, RERA Bihar had launched a reward scheme for people to provide information about projects which need to be registered but the same has not been done. Reward money of Rs. 10,000 is given to informant if information turns out to be true and penalty is imposed.
