The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported that Nigeria’s Value Added Tax (VAT) collections for Q2 2024 totaled ₦1.56 trillion, a 9.11% increase from Q1 2024.

While Lagos, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and Rivers are known to dominate VAT and Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) contributions, other states continue to struggle with low revenue figures, indicating significant disparities in economic activities and tax collection efficiency.

These variations highlight the need for improved fiscal policies and economic diversification to foster balanced development across the country.
