Engineers can now run local inference with models trained on the Rescale platform through a native desktop app for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
They can browse available models, install lightweight inference packages, and run predictions on their own hardware without an active cloud session.
The app runs on CPU by default and automatically uses local GPU hardware when available, with no additional libraries or frameworks required. That makes it useful in design review cycles when a CAE engineer needs to query a surrogate model interactively instead of queuing a cloud job. It also supports local inference workflows for on-prem teams and facilities with network restrictions.

The conversations onsite made it clear that crash and safety teams are looking for practical ways to accelerate validation by connecting traditional simulation with machine learning.
During our session, we shared how engineering teams can now scale automated dataset creation and train high-accuracy surrogate models directly on the Rescale platform, compressing design exploration loops from days to near real-time.

The conversation at @NAFEMS Americas 2026 had a different tone than a year ago. Sessions on AI deployment outnumbered exploratory discussions, and the questions practitioners were asking were specific: how do we deploy agents responsibly, and what does our data foundation need to look like first?
A few things stood out from the Rescale booth and the conference floor. 55% of attendees we surveyed are still manually passing results between simulation steps.
Agentic workflows are beginning to address this, but trust is earned incrementally. On AI physics, the most consistent barrier practitioners cited was not the technology. It was data. Teams that delete simulation data to manage storage are cutting off the foundation that surrogate modeling requires.
