Having taught seventh and fifth grade before serving students at RES in her current role as the Media Specialist, Mrs. Norton has a total of 18 years of experience in public education.

"Mrs. Norton is the model librarian. She has a genuine love for reading, which permeates to her students. She has served on various committees with The Alabama School Librarians Association and was instrumental in our school's becoming a Yellowhammer Book Award school. We are so very fortunate to have her as a member of our staff and extremely proud that she will be representing RES as our Teacher of the Year." – Jeff Johnson, RES Principal.
