My biggest revelations since the start of qualifying for the USMNT:
1. Tim Weah
Consistently our most dangerous forward. Puts shots on goal, beats guys on dribble, excellent crosser, stretches back line.
Timo is an absolute lock starter in my eyes. RW or 9 just play him.
If the WC roster was 26 players, I'd bring Gio Reyna.
If the WC roster was 23 players, I'd bring Gio Reyna.
If the WC roster was 18 players, I'd bring Gio Reyna.
If the WC roster was 11 players, I'd bring Gio Reyna.
If the WC roster was 5 players, I'd bring Gio Reyna.
@JayAH985 You’re right because there is no good number 9. I’m not in the business of keeping one of my most talented players in the bench so I can have a good sub. 🤷🏻♂️
@JayAH985 I think people who are suggesting Gregg give it a try (like myself), understand that he’s not a true 9.
BUT it has the potential to fix 2 big problems: find an effective 9 and open another spot for Gio or BA
@AlexiLalas The counter press would be so fun to watch with the lineup! This might be the lineup! I’m not sure Long is the 2nd CB but I’m also not sure who I’d pick 🤷🏻♂️
Pretty sure Josh Sargent only had one chance … maybe two…? With the top usa players (puli, McKennie, Dest, Reyna) how is he not being thought of more for another chance.
He easily brings what arriola has except is way better imo. I hope he tears up the championship next year
USMNT starting XI vs. Uruguay, per Gregg Berhalter:
Johnson; Yedlin, Zimmerman, Long, Robinson (if he recovers from illness, Scally if not); Adams, Musah, McKennie; Pulisic, Ferreira, Weah
Let’s also remember it was a friendly. It was against decent competition but still a friendly. The boys played well and I liked how they looked but it was still a friendly.
