How does one justify the use of police power on church property *against the District Superintendent?*
The separatists are dead set on burning down the denomination on the way out the door, because we as queer folks want to participate in the full life of the #UMC. Shameful.
Together let us persist in offering Christ-like mercy and working for justice; deepening lives of devotion and drawing communities together in worship.

In the wake of a postponed General Conference and a continued pandemic, we are urgently called again to the work of Christ – in all the ways we can. Ever more clearly, we discern the disconnect between the logistics of our gathering and the call of the gospel.
As we wait until we can gather together safely as a global Church, we do not have to wait to be the Church. Building relationships across our connection, we honor and acknowledge our similarities and differences, and commit to our ongoing work dismantling racism and colonialism.
#ResistHarm continues our series, designed to be posted during the postponed 2020 GC, on past UMC General Conferences and the harm that has been done through this legislative assembly for decades.

Enable us to be the architects of understanding, of respect and love; Through the Lord, the ground of all unity, we pray. Amen.
Leaders, Pastors, Teachers, Parents and Students, may we all celebrate and affirm diversity in our prayers and our actions. #resistharm
We confess that in our brokenness as human beings we turn diversity into a source of alienation, injustice, oppression, and wounding. Empower us to recognize and celebrate differences as your great gift to the human family.
