Oh ALA and libraryland. You continue to be so disappointing. The attacks on libraries, universities, and cultural memory is one of the biggest losses since the Library of Alexandria and yet. Alas.
It’s easy to talk principles, but when it comes to helping actual people? Silence
No one speaks about the loss of talent when systems break Black women at work.
I could create something new and amazing inside higher ed every day. Something transformative. That’s my gift.
People are destroying potential and getting away with it.

I'm immensely proud of my fellow cancer-surviving lesbrarian from Idaho, Emily Drabinski, who is currently stomaching the most horrifying trolling as new ALA President. Happy to know the person who comes up when you google "Marxist Lesbian."
Since #QueerHistoryMonth starts this weekend: I think we are undergoing a massive shift in the meaning of queer identity RIGHT NOW - the 2nd one in American history [🧵]
@archivalflpnx @gracenbrilz Just read the article yesterday, and of course saw your panel today, and just want to remind you both that you are TREASURES! Thanks for your care and labor!
It has been incredible to grow up as an archivist and become a queer elder in friendship with @NLilyGodoy, who has been shaping my own archival practice for about a decade now. And I'm so proud of her award for work on community-driven archives! #saa22
Nancy Reagan alongside her husband ignored the AIDS epidemic and didn't even mutter the word "AIDS" until 25,000 Americans, mostly LGBTQ+ people died due to negligence. There are no words to describe how misguided and repugnant it is to do this especially during Pride Month.
“Diversifying” graduate student cohorts without recruiting, retaining, and promoting faculty of color who work on relevant topics who can teach and advise incoming students is unethical.
@KRingelberg I have a queer haircuts zine in the archives! And heard about queer students giving each other undercuts during quarantine when barbers were closed!
