To pay 1 cr alimony you need to earn 1.4 cr (tax alimony), to earn 1.4 cr you need to spend atleast .7cr in your expenses.
So in all you are paying approx 2.1 cr minimum.
Even at 6% per annum u stand to earn 13lac in interest.

Courts have power to set precedent by judgement but they rarely do. Don't expect anything from government, there is no incentive yet.
