This is just not true. As soon as I became foreign secretary I asked the security services the same question and they replied that there was no evidence of any successful interference in the 2016 referendum, by Russia or any other power.
Either the security services have changed their view - which would be very odd - or Burnham is lying about what he has been told. After all Starmer was in power for two years and had access to exactly the same information.

@EdwardOakenfull@luff_miche16970 Has this video been dubbed or has no-one watched it? The video I see is in English and she is sworn in in the Bible. What am I missing? Apart from her deportation
People need to understand clearly what is happening here.
Andy Burnham has never been a fan of Britain’s democratic decision to leave the European Union in 2016. The referendum was one of the biggest democratic processes in modern Britain, with strong views on both sides.
The Prime Minister now claims officials told him that Russia interfered in the referendum.
Burnham used his first speech at the UN to announce the creation of the National Centre for Information Defence. He said it would tackle Russian misinformation that sows division, interferes in our democracy, spreads false narratives about Britain and pushes people towards the “far right”.
But today, a Foreign Office minister slapped down that claim, saying Russia was not successful in influencing the Brexit referendum.
It is clear that this new centre will almost certainly be used to clamp down on those who do not subscribe to Burnham’s vision of Britain or the progressive orthodoxies he promotes.
It looks as if Andy Burnham is now spreading misinformation about misinformation — the very thing he claims threatens democracy.
Angela.
You promised to make council tax fairer. And here it is. More time to pay, clearer warnings, more support. A payment plan and a letter before the bailiffs. That is the fairness.
Here is the trouble, Angela. Working people do not need more time to pay a tax they should not be paying at all. They need the tax to stop rising. They need the bins emptied. They need the potholes filled. They need the library open.
You have given them a longer rope and called it mercy.
And you thanked Martin Lewis for campaigning for it. Martin Lewis, the money man, telling people how to juggle debt they would not have if you had not built a system that punishes the working class for living in a house while others live in hotels for free.
Fairer. Under your rules, cash is redirected from well-run rural councils to urban councils that spent theirs on diversity officers and Palestinian flags. That is your fairness. Punish the careful, reward the reckless.
You are the Housing Secretary who tried to dodge the council tax surcharge on your own grace-and-favour flat. You are the Deputy Prime Minister who settled a tax bill with HMRC and called it vindication. And now you are telling the rest of us to be grateful for a warning letter before the debt spirals.
Working people have seen council tax debt spiral, you say. Yes. Because you keep putting it up.
Fairer. The word means nothing. It is a longer payment plan for a bill that should not exist, written by a woman who tried to skip her own.
The reply under your tweet calls you Vicky Pollard. That is unfair. Vicky Pollard was funny.
Burnham pledges new winter funding for Ukrainians but won't alleviate energy bills for Brits!
Burnham bangs on about sanctions on Russian oil but won't open up our own North Sea!
"I raised an energy ceasefire with President Trump in New York... and so I welcome President Trump's announcement yeseterday."
Is Burnham trying to take credit for Trump's leadership?
Why has every recent PM cared more about Ukraine than Britain?
The newly installed UK PM Andy Burnham to Parliament today: "it is highly likely" that the RAF Fairford incident was "coordinated in Iran" and he's "almost certainly directed by the IRGC."
Yet he instantly bailed and snook out the suspects?
An 83 year old woman in Thorntonhall was held at gunpoint in her own home by a man the Home Office already knew was an overstayer.
Chirag Solanki, 27, was on an expired student visa, had a missing marker placed on him, and was listed as wanted.
On 6 July 2024 he broke into the couple’s home armed with a BB gun and knife while they were having lunch.
He has now pled guilty to abduction, assault and related charges.
He told police he had lost his job and was looking for money.
He was only caught after a 999 call and a police helicopter search.
How was someone already flagged by the
Home Office free to do this?
17 million people with non-European ancestry can be legally and legitimately be removed from Great Britain.
Today, I presented the data at the Tradition Britain Group conference.
More coming soon 📽️
17 MILLION WILL GO.
Here we go, the rush to corrupt (more than it is already) the election process has started. Our democracy has failed. It does not deliver for the people.
"Together, we will hope again."
Not a slogan. A company name.
Hope Not Hate is a charity and a private company sharing one brand, one office and one payroll. And it is now inside Number 10. Its board member runs Burnham's transition. Its former campaigns chief writes his political strategy. Its ex-director chairs the party.
You elected none of them.
While everyone watched the far right, the far left walked into Downing Street.

Criminal damage to the Battle of Britain Memorial - I wonder what punishment they will get for that. They have no respect, they are vile, unpatriotic, Palestinian flag waving leftie scum
At the same time as unelected PM Burnham is mandating Digital ID for over 16’s to be able to access social media he is also rushing through measures to remove the requirement for photo ID for voting.
So higher ID requirements for social media than voting !
Has Burnham still got one eye on a snap General election ?
Are our next elections going to be rigged ? Again ?
