what in the actual fuck. that ridiculous bike/ped path is completely unusuable. why is the human-powered travel required to make a greater change in elevation and move a longer distance than the gas-powered travel?
My experience is that cops don't give a fuck about drivers blocking bike lanes. They do, however, care *a lot* about people using bikes/scooters on sidewalks.
More proof that we need better bike infrastructure, not more bike lane enforcement.
One might expect that if the police are blocking the bike lane it’s to ticket the two other vehicles illegally parked in the lane. But no, they’re just sitting in their SUV chilling.
@PurpleLineExt Hey metro! Since we're entering another shutdown, why not expand work hours beyond 9pm-6am? It'd be awesome if the Purple Line could avoid the horrible delays that the Regional Connector and Crenshaw line have experienced.
After four years on the California housing beat, can report that Californians — coastal or inland, liberal or conservative — find a lot of ways to prevent poor people of color from living near them https://t.co/iYEoTfYmSf
This seems like a pretty good parking-to-other-stuff ratio for a building 0.5 miles from heavy rail.
Also, this made me realize that in 25 years of living in SoCal (plus a few more years coming down for business/family), I have never been to the NoHo Arts District.
This is a .3 mile walk to a heavy rail station (less than five minutes if you walk quickly!!), but of course it has 320 parking spaces. As usual, that's more parking stalls than units.
@jcresident2020 @CARandDRIVER I'd argue that poor road design is also irresponsible behavior and not a genuine 'accident'. It might not be the driver's fault, but we can't absolve traffic engineers from their responsibility to design safe streets.

Right by a new heavy rail station, but 184 parking spaces for just 53 non-assisted living residences. I get that the employees, visitors, and the church need some parking.... but 184 seems excessive.
