But even in his case, it wasn't without a lot of pain and punishment. Most whistleblowers never see a shred of vindication like Fred did.

Gagliano's behavior is very much on par for the constant retaliation from the FBI on whistleblowers.

He testified at court he couldn’t recall many details. I don’t know the particular incident first hand. Since he denied shooting his weapons there may not have been the typical FBI review. Nonetheless, FBI Director Patel awarded him a medal for Bravery recently despite his obvious memory issues and Picking up brass from the shoot scene before any investigation.

Though they were pretty stingy with duty ammo.
