WES Community: Join me in welcoming Jon Wilson to the WLSD Family. Mr. Wilson was officially hired Monday evening by our B.O.E. & will teach 5th grade Math at WES. Weβre excited to add such an accomplished educator. Welcome, Jon! You can follow Jon on Twitter @RethinkingClass
@mathbarb That question has been at the front in my mind. Iβve never minded kids fidgeting/drawing but my own tendency to get distracted makes sounds different. I tried giving students instrumental background songs this year to focus and drown out other noise, but thatβs not enough. π€
I have two students who are hard to engage in a typical classroom. On Zoom, I can see that they are making all sorts of noises, but are very engaged! Distance learning brings new challenges, but also helps some of our learners who struggle in a typical classroom! #distancelearning
We didn't want students to lose Field Day this year. There are some amazing ideas out there, but here's what we created for our 3rd grade students. Feel free to use anything! #DistanceLearning#VirtualFieldDay https://t.co/te7QT04uCI https://t.co/tvvAQjSko3
@Mrsablund@owpmu@ncte@swoctm1 Ooh! I love this idea. π€ Maybe a thread on Flipgrid where every kid makes a video for another student in the class that's encouraging? I challenged kids to do something kind they wouldn't normally do for someone in their own house at one point and had them share on Flipgrid.
Want to make an awesome game experience? Choose a Rags to Riches game from Quia and share your screen, open these slides and download each one. Use those images as your virtual background and it looks like you are on the set of the show! #distancelearning https://t.co/4xIFPmxa9K
