The Women's Declaration of Independence reflects a long arc in American history:
1776 — Declaration of Independence
1848 — Declaration of Sentiments challenges coverture and the denial of women's rights
1868 — Reconstruction Amendments redefine citizenship, yet women remain legally subordinate under coverture and without equal constitutional status
1920 — 19th Amendment Women secure the vote, but not full constitutional equality
1923 — Equal Rights Amendment introduced to guarantee equal rights for women under the Constitution
1965 — Voting Rights Act strengthens Black women's access to the ballot
1972 — Congress approves the Equal Rights Amendment and sends it to the states for ratification
2020 — Equal Rights Amendment becomes fully ratified, renewing the national debate over women's constitutional equality and equal protection under the law
2026 — Women's Declaration of Independence proclaimed nationwide during America's 250th anniversary, carrying forward the unfinished promise of the 1848 Declaration of Sentiments
Many Americans believe the story of women's equality was completed with the vote in 1920. The timeline above tells a different story.

Friendly reminder
Instead of governments
creating Digital IDs
to track citizens…
Maybe citizens
should have Digital IDs
for politicians.
Track who they meet with.
Track who lobbies them.
Track where our tax dollars go.
They work for us.
Not the other way around.
Don’t forget when Rome was collapsing emperors would use Gladiator fights to distract the people from the Corruption of the State at that time! This is all starting to make sense now. Who agrees?

Israel destroying the foundations of humanity, literally & figuratively.
As the world unifies in horror, we can unify to stop the madness.
Complete military, economic, diplomatic boycott of genocidal Israel now.
When you tell a woman she must pretend a man is a woman, you’re asserting the right to control her speech and perception of reality, while also trivialising and devaluing her female-specific experience. You’re asking her to agree that ‘woman’ is a concept men can embody at will.
England and Wales Enact Full Decriminalization of Abortion. The new Crime and Policing Act completely removes abortion from the criminal code, establishing it strictly as a matter of healthcare regulation.

Yelitsa Jean-Charles created Healthy Roots Dolls — beautiful Black and brown dolls with high-quality synthetic hair designed to realistically mimic natural curly/kinky textures. The hair is washable with real hair care products, braidable, and styleable, so little girls can actually care for it just like their own.
No more dolls that don’t match their curls or skin tones. Just joyful representation that lets Black girls see themselves and love what they see.
Beautiful idea, powerful impact. 👏🏾
