We applaud the work of Sonia McColl OBE, the founder of the Park Homes Owners Justice Campaign, who led the demonstration. We also thank @LKPleasehold who continue to be stalwart campaigners to bring justice to the overlooked in our leasehold and commonhold residential sector.
We have had good progress in campaigning to bring justice to Park Home-owners over recent weeks. My persistent calls to address pitch fees rising every year with RPI, rather than the less onerous CPI, looks set to be solved by Sir Christopher Chope MP's Private Members Bill.
The greatest concern is the 10% exit fee on sale taken by the site owners which residents claim is for no defined service whatsoever. Some years ago, we campaigned vigorously for the 1% exit fees in retirement housing to be dropped by the Office of Fair Trading. 10% is a scandal.
On Monday, I joined a mass gathering of Park Home demonstrators in demanding an end to 10% sales fees. We delivered a clear message demanding reform of this massively scandal-hit sector of the retirement housing market.
160k park homes are retirement housing. Worse than white collar leasehold bullying from lawyers, you might just get your mobile home burned out or stolen. Protests yesterday. Thanks @PBottomleyMP and @justinmadders https://t.co/hcW8mHaW9E
.@McCarthyStone ground rents of £400-500pa and £500-600pa within M25 justified to pay for communal areas and construction costs and keep flats 'competitively priced'. Right.

@mk270@nearlylegal@NLC_2019@PhilSpencerTV@LKPleasehold I have given you examples where we intervened when RMCs were nobbled, and they were resolved. Here's another across Taylor Wimpey London sites https://t.co/qLjACxMuKp
An awful lot of it in freeholds of flats, with the usual hiding of beneficial ownership offshore behind nominee directors. And these people hold unaccountable power over the homes of families (some caught up in the cladding disaster).
3/ Your friends @McCarthyStone and Churchill @DesmondSwayne and @peter_aldous would do better trying to prevent their flats plummeting in value rather than gaming ground rents at the 11th hour https://t.co/274clgSKLp
