Anbernic’s Game Boy Advance Arrives With The RG34XX
https://t.co/PJMRgmF4xM
Anbernic’s new GBA-inspired device is sure to be a nostalgia hit. @anbernic_china#retrogames#emulation
@RetroHandhelds@deadfred69 Zoinks, they must have a lot of H700 chips. I guess if they are making mid-tier devices more budget friendly (can't wait for the CubeXX) then I'm all for it. Anbernic basically has a full "Lite" line now.
@carygolomb Yes. The strategy of "Have the factory assemble and ship our designs to customers" clearly isn't good enough. If you can't afford to add a Q&A step, at least put a rep on the assembly floor a few times per week.
@JoeysRetroHH Actually pretty stoked for this device, NGL. I want a cheaper 1:1 device (mostly for Pico-8) but have stayed away from the RGB30 over those quality control issues. I was frustrated that Anbernic made a great 1:1 but made it powerful and charged $180 for it.
@RetroGameCorps Super helpful chart, Russ. Now (while I wait for my RP5, like a puppy in the window) I'm curious why it didn't make S tier for Android gaming. Is that because of the age of the chip, or the screen aspect ratio not being a perfect match with some modern games designed for phones?
Some analysis, and my thoughts, on Nintendo's really odious tactics against the retro gaming community:
Nintendo Is Bullying The Retro Emulation Community
https://t.co/SagfdAGedy
@RetroGameCorps@RetroHandhelds
@NerdNestTV To the point of what Nintendo has done here, it should be shocking and offensive even to people who don't emulate games. These two strikes are for showing title screens on camera, and nothing more ... because Nintendo doesn't have the legal standing to do anything else. Bullying.
@RetroGameCorps I also like the idea of shifting certain content to Patreon or Floatplane or some other platform where you can still monetize. Nintendo is being a bully, and deserves to be circumvented.
@RetroGameCorps Sorry this happened. I think you were just on their radar after the last one. I'd say exclude showering all first-party stuff but talk verbally about how they run. You could even put up a performance chart. But go cold turkey on Nintendo IP at least until the strikes expire.
