RP project’s random delegated proof of stake consensus mechanic (rdPOS) not only advances the principle of democratic digital freedom, but is also at the vanguard of environmentally benign blockchain technology. No mining needed.
If a movie studio that produces their own content wants to launch a Web3 app, they still get to control their content. Or if a Web3 app is an aggregator of other people's content, like a social net, the user gets to control their content. This can be a powerfully flexible system.
RP project has released a new Web3 app development framework that can provide even more flexibility within a content sovereignty ecosystem. Apps now have meaningful options for SERVING content, each compatible with any usable storage adapter (eg Google Drive, AWS, IPFS, etc.).
Web3 apps that build on the RP system can have secure encrypted content served DIRECTLY to a user in their web browser or on their mobile device (eg social nets who only serve content that doesn’t belong to them).
The new RP release is a key memory saving update. Apps that only want to operate w data & content storages don't need to run witness nodes. & witnesses who just want be block producers will also save RAM. This’ll allow more people to run nodes, making the network more resilient.
RP project has issued a new release that gives max flexibility for node runners. If you want to be a block producer & earn rewards u can configure & use the witness plugin. If you want to be an app that provides content services like a social net u can use a plugin made for that.
(5/5) This technology, that allows apps to develop on a democratic framework, where user sovereignty reigns, is no small matter. It means that a Facebook killer kit core has been assembled, which can allow a data ownership economy w user controls to advance; if people so choose.
(1/5) RP project has released a Web3 open source protocol allowing users to control, & provide access to, not just their personal data, but also larger files that can be placed in various storages, for speedy & secure content delivery, all without clogging up the core blockchain.
(4/5) Backward compatibility has been implemented so that, as & when the community determines that a data or content card ought to be enhanced, to update or add fields, users won't need to redo all their inputs from scratch. An obvious measure, but not an easy thing. & it's done.
RP game theory is: the more a data sovereignty economy grows & thrives, the more a DEX & institutional clearing house that underwrites & stabilizes the economy is worthwhile. & the more stable & worthwhile the marketplace becomes, the more app developers will want to build on it.
Here's to 2022 all. The revolution remains real. It was made real by you. RP tech design continues to advance - along w a data sovereignty core, current main net design also includes a proper layer-1 decentralized exchange & institutional clearing house, governed democratically.
The best source for ongoing project status is the public-side GitHub which'll continue to be updated & groomed on an agile basis. We'll of course also look to provide summary posts on meaningful tech milestones as they are realized.

Current road to main net incl: 1) data sovereignty core, 2) democratic blockchain ops, 3) transaction apps, 4) security audit & token swap. While pioneering tech ought to be foundationally sound, & so main net will be ready when it's ready, agile design & dev is getting it there.
As agile development progress will, naturally, bring about more & more clarity around main net implementation (reasonably, responsibly, diligently), it's also super important to keep in mind the big picture: that main net itself must be, in fact, just the end of the beginning.
It is & remains (as always) in everyone's interest to get things done right & quick, in that order. Code'll continue to be committed as & when the project's aims have a reasonable opportunity to be responsibly & stably met (not a minute before, though also not a minute after).
RP testnet summary to date (high level): Personal data & content management capabilities (true data base ops) implemented for future app usability. New consensus algo rdPoS also implemented & tuning continues. Work continues for all-in ops & future app integrations incl cl house.
