Try telling that to the family of serving NSW Police Officer, David Carty.

He was ambushed and brutally stabbed to death by members of the Assyrian Kings, an Assyrian organized crime gang operating in the area.

After finishing his midnight shift, Carty went for a drink with colleagues at the Cambridge Tavern in Fairfield. At around 2:10 AM, as he walked through the tavern’s car park, he was ambushed by the same group he had encountered earlier.

Carty was stabbed in the heart, stomped on, and mutilated, sustaining horrific injuries before succumbing to the assault.

Ringleader, Dawood Odishu died in custody.

Co offenders Thamier Sako and Edward Esho received sentences of less than five and six years respectively.

A slap in the face to the Carty family.
