Pastors all over Texas are mobilizing to fight with righteous fury all plans to make commodities of our kids & markets of our classrooms through private school vouchers that take money from poor kids to subsidize rich kids. #txed#txlege@GregAbbott_TX @Network4pubEd @carolburris
It was an honor to spend some time at the Capitol yesterday with @pastors4txkids! We need more robust support and funding for our public schools, not harmful voucher programs that exacerbate disparities and blur the line between church and state.
Three great pastoral advocates going to bat in #txlege on behalf of 5.5 million #txed schoolchildren--and making sure the hurtful voucher program goes nowhere in Texas. Thank you Rev. Amelia Fulbright @RevFulbright & Rev. Shelby Nowland @revshelbs for joining Dr. Luke! @c_cluke
“Bodily autonomy, personal conscience and dignity are big parts of my Christian faith,” said Austin pastor @RevFulbright, who works in teen pregnancy prevention and pro-abortion advocacy. https://t.co/OfwqztzGz0
That’s me in a German newspaper today. Thanks so much to @lukashermsmeier for covering faith perspectives in the struggle for reproductive justice and abortion access! I hope my German ancestors would be proud.
Attending the SACRED gathering was the highlight of my week! I left with my heart full and my spirit lifted. Reproductive dignity is a pathway toward healing for us all. 🙏🏻
Thank you, @ZerlinaMaxwell, for having me on your show tonight! You’re fantastic, and I appreciate all you are doing to cover what’s at stake for our reproductive freedom.
I hope y’all will show this piece some love, since there is already a misleading version circulating around anti-choice “news” sites. Much gratitude to @ameliaschonbek for her journalism.
Today, @MayorAdler and I toured an ICU where doctors told us most COVID patients are young, healthy, & unvaccinated.
With our ICUs at capacity and COVID rapidly spreading, we must come together again (regardless of vaccine status) to mask up in public places like the FC game.
🔴 LIVE NOW: Dr. Kimberly Avila Edwards, a general pediatrician from @AscensionSeton, shares how we can keep our kids safe while our COVID numbers are rising and kids are going back to school in the next few weeks.

@TravisCoJudge@AscensionSeton Excellent conversation! As a pastor & parent of an AISD elementary student, returning to school with no mask mandate feels untenable, but so does another semester of virtual school. I’m hearing same from fellow parents, colleagues, & parishioners. What legal recourse do we have?
