Dr @LizGraveling, Senior Researcher at the @churchofengland, gave this year's keynote speech at our Annual Assembly.
She shared some eye-opening, concerning statistics, including a suggestion that:
◾ 1 in 5 incumbents in her study may have clinical depression
◾ 42% were anxious about their finances

Wanting to have their cake and eat it - effectively leave the body that is following the Spirit, but hold onto buildings, stipends, houses, and pensions. If you can’t go where the living tradition is going, join our ecumenical partners. I think it’s a serious lack of integrity.
St Philip's Avondale Square has had a fantastic succession of gifted parish priests, but last night @RevHHarknett became the first Vicar in 24 years, complete with a Royal Warrant from His Majesty the King and joyful celebrations-giving thanks for #EstatesMinistry@SouthwarkCofE
Deeply concerned to hear that an error with clergy payroll means that some Church of England clergy will find stipend payments delayed by 24hours. If you’re in @SouthwarkCofE & this causes difficulties, please don’t hesitate to contact your archdeacon or my office for support.
There’s a suggestion in a synod reply here that in @churchofengland we generally don’t bless things, only pray that people might be blessed in using them. That is such an enfeeblement of our theology. I discuss this in my 2014 book called, simply, ‘Blessing’.
