My general take on life is this:

Be extremely loose handed about opinions you have where you haven’t done a ton of work to validate your thoughts;

But be extremely firm handed about opinions where you have done a lot of work to validate your thoughts and have outputs at hand.

The burden of proof is always on the one without the work done; but that doesn’t mean work done = truth; so you still need to keep your priors open enough to change your mind.

All of which is to say; don’t let people play you—but never ever play yourself.
