Kenya is a constitutional democracy which must be governed by the rule of law and the supremacy of the constitution; not the whims of one man. Full stop!
When people say “stop being political,” they usually mean:
“Things are fine for me, and I don’t like being reminded that others are suffering because of this system.”
For those who actually recall Nairobi in the 80s, 90s and early 2000s, the nightlife, the CBD when it worked, and was a city with order. We really don’t need lectures.
We remember Pagoda, Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant, China Plate, Minar, TinTin, Wimpy, Tamarind, Alan Bobbe’s, Red Bull Restaurant, Professional Centre Steak House, City Frys, Just Food in Westlands, Exotica Restaurant, Nix Taverna in Westlands, Foresta Magnetica and Toona Tree and were operating right in the heart of the CBD.
We remember Thorn Tree at the Stanley, Cameo Cinema, Odeon, Embassy Cinema, afternoon lunches at the New Stanley, late nights at Florida Night Club, Florida 2000, Exotica, Snow Cream and Dolce Club.
A city that worked by day and actually lived by night.
Some of us even remember a time when a certain general’s father stood behind a counter, flipping kheema chapatis, earning an honest living, long before this little kid was even in the making or a thought 🥚.
These weren’t myths or romanticised stories.
They were real businesses, real jobs and real standards, built quietly and destroyed carelessly.
So when this kid TikTok1 starts lecturing us on how a city should be run or managed, forgive us if we don’t listen.
Some of us lived in Nairobi when it worked and watched it be dismantled.
TikTok1, do not try us. We know this city, long before you were even a concept.

@Alfayaz11 My goodness! The days when we'd drink fresh clean water straight from the taps as kids!
Walk with a bunch of friends to Westlands from Green Corner in the evenings without a care in the world and get home safe and sound. Westlands has now become a big crime infested slum💔
The most breathtakingly remarkable genius and revolutionary African person I have learnt about.
I urge as many people as possible to listen to this remarkable life and legacy of LYDIA JOHNSON, the African slave who white supremacy tried to erase in Boston, Massachusetts.

The Arab Islamic slave trade enslaved over 17 million Africans for 1,300 years;- Brutally castrating men, raping women, pure evil. Yet no one is talking about it 💔💔
There's one fact I want people to learn today, Capitalism isn't money.
Money has existed for thousands of years, Capitalism only for about 500.
Capitalism is the structuring of society so that a handful of people own everything and everybody else has to pay them to use it.
Professionals who enter people's homes (plumbers, electricians, cleaners): What is something the condition of a house tells you about the owner that they don't realize they are revealing ?
anti-intellectualism has gotten so bad that people think it’s weak or inherently bad to admit that they don’t know something. people have trouble saying “i don’t know.”
@EvanAKilgore Why isn't Erika directly asking Candace to stop? Why is she claiming all rocks will be unturned yet has a problem with people unturning the rocks?Erika is clearly too defensive and has something very fishy to hide. She is not the victim, her husband was the victim.
