Your trick is a fake choice: either fear of Islam is rational or Islamophobia doesn’t exist, but the truth is wider. Criticising ideas is fair enough, hating people for their faith is Islamophobia full stop. And if your logic holds then fear of Christianity would be rational for the Crusades and destroying Iraq (The West) and Syria (Russia), fear of Judaism for Israel's war crimes and Genocides, and fear of atheism for Stalin. That's not reason, that's collective blame. Bottom line, you didn't make fear rational, you just made hate look cheap.
