Yoooo, they really let the kid from Brooklyn became a Tech Lead / Staff Engineer.
The best part…it wasn’t intentional, but it was also no accident.
…I’ll tell you more about it later. ✊🏾
#BlackTechTwitter#BlackinTech
The backlash, specifically by black people, to the announcement of the new #BlackPanther is quite disheartening to see...
It's like all of that "I'm rooting for everyone black" just went right out the window.
@chaosprimeZ@vicious696 Ironically, by mentioning PC, we go back to the “Everything is an Xbox” route.
And you can tell by practically everyone in the comment section saying, “well, they can sell on PC via Steam”
And that’s the problem with Xbox…their decisions often conflict with itself.
Y’all so busy battling Sony that you are missing the fact that digital rights is a bigger issue, and that this EULA is standard for software in general. That’s the real issue.
I’m absolutely shocked at how many people don’t understand gaming software and are letting publishers just play in your face with their “fake fight” to preserve Physical.
#Sony#Playstation
Just do a bit of research and critical thinking:
Be aware that the Physical version you own has the same EULA agreement stating that this game is a lease?! And it’s been like this for over +2 decades…
@PivotForge@oliver_drk The problem with these conversations are that, while trying to prove a point, people keep conflating different issues.
Digital Licenses are not one size fits all. They are constructed very differently for movies and often contain expiration dates.
StudioCanal != Gaming license.
I'm all for improving digital rights, but we also cannot blame a business for something individuals do because they didn't understand the implications.
Deleting a game you digitally own is the equivalent of deleting your crypto key because a third party has a backup.
It’s truly a headache reading statuses and comments from people who don’t fundamentally understand how “digital licensing” works.
It truly is a simple “backup your own PlayStation games on SSD instead of depending on the store to redownload” scenario for games.
Solution?
STORE YOUR GAMES on an external hard drive when you need the space.
That’s the responsible digital equivalent of having the CD.
The real danger is loss of access, and that can ONLY happen if you decide to delete your own access by deleting games.
@xonebros South of Midnight vs Crimson Desert is an absurd comparison.
We are talking brand new conceptual IP from scratch vs a game where its engine and formulas have been tested and ported because they have an ongoing MMO that allows them to self fund their projects.
@JamieMoranUK With that said…Game Pass did not help this at all.
Their lack of decision on picking if they want to build a gaming ecosystem or a dedicated gaming platform/console is in direct business conflict and is causing them to implode.
Multiple things can be true.
@JamieMoranUK The real problem is scale.
The gaming community hasn’t scaled as fast as production cost or technology…and it all leads to a pricing problem.
Ironically, $70 average for games is cheap in comparison to how much it cost to make.
SNES were $50-60’ish, $125+ with inflation.
@JamieMoranUK It's not a matter of higher standards, its a matter of leverage.
It'll always be more impactful for Xbox, given the smaller number of exclusives on that side.
It also helps that PS opted not to compete and cannibalize Day-one sales, like Game Pass.
