In response to the devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela, AWMH is granting $100,000 in support through longtime partner @directrelief.
While the full scale of the damage is yet to be determined, the United Nations is reporting that up to 6.8 million Venezuelans may be affected, including those displaced or losing access to electricity and water. More than 68,000 people were reported missing within three days of the disaster, and the official death toll is approaching 2,000.
Direct Relief is preparing medical aid commonly needed after earthquakes, including first-aid supplies, hygiene items for displaced families, medicines used to treat acute injuries, and chronic disease medications for people whose access to routine care may be interrupted.
AWMH’s $100,000 grant will support Direct Relief as the organization continues to respond to requests in the region as they become known.

To every "politician" taking advantage of this tragedy & contributing to people’s deaths because of oil
FUCK YOU

One week ago, my home country, Venezuela 🇻🇪 was impacted by two earthquakes. The destruction is unlike anything I’ve ever seen in a place that was already suffering deeply because of corruption and thieves who only want to see people suffer and die

I haven’t set foot in Venezuela in over 12 years. At some point, I thought I had lost touch with the country. But seeing how politics and corruption are contributing to people’s deaths is something that goes beyond time, distance, or how long I’ve been away from my country

Many times posting about helping gives me mix feelings but if this post can inspire at least 1 person to move into action then it was worth it! You don’t have to have a lot to help.
Today was a success. With so much sad news lately, it’s truly refreshing to see people come together to help Venezuela. From a mom bringing her two kids to help and setting such a beautiful example, to total strangers working side by side to make an impact moments like this remind us of the good in our Miami community 🇻🇪🙏
Thank you all for your kind words and messages ✨🙏✨Our hearts and souls are broken but we keep going helping our people ❤️🩹

Just because you're enjoying your daily life doesn't mean you're indifferent to the tragedies and hardships happening around the world.
Life is full of duality. In the same hour, I can be laughing with friends, then watch a video from Venezuela that leaves me in tears. It hurts to see so many people suffering yet again. It doesn’t make sense, it’s frustrating, sad and painful to put yourself in their shoes because we all love someone, we all have families and can’t even dare the thought of waking up without them or hearing them and not having the machinery to get to them.
What makes this especially personal is that some of my favorite people in the world are Venezuelan. My two best friends who are like sisters, one of my closest guy friends, and so many of the people I've met here on X. Their pain doesn't feel distant. It feels close.
But I've also seen another side. I've seen people step up, organize, donate, volunteer, and remind us that even in the darkest moments, there's still so much goodness.
We may not be able to solve everything, but every act of kindness matters. Whether it's donating, volunteering your time, checking in on someone, sharing resources, or simply refusing to look away, please do something. Big or small, it all adds up. May God continue to intervene and safe as many people as possible❤️🇻🇪🙏
last night i participated in @dev3pack's #Build4Venezuela hackathon 🇻🇪
i built FaroVE, a platform designed to help reunite children with their families after the earthquake.
many children are being found in different shelters and rescue centers while they wait for their families. during emergencies like this, there is also a risk of children being mistakenly released or of people attempting to impersonate family members.
FaroVE works 100% offline, allows rescuers to register a child in under 60 seconds, and helps verify every reunification safely.
the app is already live:

if you know rescue teams, humanitarian organizations, journalists, or anyone in venezuela who could help get this tool into the right hands, a repost or introduction would mean a lot.
thank you to @solana and the entire community for supporting initiatives like this. building technology that helps people is what makes this ecosystem so special.
❤️🇻🇪every child deserves to make it home.
