Some people are unconcerned regarding the elimination of the GT allotment in Texas, saying the funds are still there but rolled in to the general allotment. Don’t be deceived-districts will no longer be required to spend that money on GT. It is NOT still there. #gtchat@TXGifted

Ohio moved GT funds to general fund in 2009. It didn't work; Ohio re-instated the GT allotment last year! Let's learn from Ohio — and Do the Bright Thing for students w gifted learning difference AND/OR other learning challenges! Please fund GT allotment, too! #WhyGT@DanHuberty
Intermediate REACH at Bowie (grades 4-6) did independent study about NPOs and those kids collectively donated 1200+ service hours and $18,000+ to various NPOs!!! INCREDIBLE! I’m so inspired! @RISDGT@RGgifted
Part of the answer must be retaining the GT Allotment not repealing it in #HB3. Begging the #txleg to reconsider as this is the only special population being cut out of the funding picture - it will disproportionately hurt low income and minority students. #gtchat@txgifted
