If you love being scared in the comfort of your own office, home, car, wherever you enjoy audio fiction, may I suggest @NosleepPodcast so that they may frighten you into the night?
Check out Season 15 episode 20 for some frightening tales, including my own: "The Edge" 😱
I have a cosmic/folk horror novella I'm looking to sub and since the Twitter algorithm sucks, I'm totally unaware of which pubs are currently accepting submissions. Can the #WritingCommunity help me out here?
He never needed #excuses to be proud of WiLL. The boy picked him off plenty of bar floors. Now the child is a young man. Neither of them thought there'd be a day where this dad could see his son performing on stage while sipping a club soda. #vss365 - https://t.co/fAN6AhByLc
I told them I wanted to be happy. There was a #laugh somewhere between the murmurs. Then I called to say “I’m happy now” and they began to cry. Mother was smiling through sobs, I imagined, but my brother was biting his tongue. I saw blood trickling down with his tears. #vss365
State Sen. Nathan Dahm (R-OK) has penned several bills loosening gun restrictions, including the nation’s first anti-red flag law. He thinks these bills protect the Second Amendment – and that they make us safer. We think it's probably one or the other. Watch it on @AppleTVPlus.
They made the bed every morning, even though they never slept in it. Pillows and blankets on the floor. Bottles. A .45 for #safety. Their partner didn't understand the gun or constant vigilance. The drinking. Somehow #vulnerability died between them long ago. #vss365#bravewrite

Another morning found him on the floor and so began that morning ritual of cauterizing his eyes with sunlight. When the light has finally registered inside him, he found his son’s toys overlooking his “bed”. It was a mess, but one to #cherish. #vss365
He never made it to the boarding call. His flight from DEN swooped down to LAX all fine and well for an hour layover. Next stop, Honolulu. But he didn't make that connection. His family waited in arrivals watching the carousel. They got his luggage...and that was all. #vss365
Reached this really new fun depression level where I drink dark red ales and eat cured meat (a gift from my mom) and (cheddar) cheese in the dark with a single candle at 2am like a well-cared for serf peasant. Bread would complete this cycle, but I don't wanna ask for too much.
I get the call from the emergency department.
“He’s was near death, but we stabilized him.”
They start reciting the story. It’s a well worn script we both know all to well.
“Unhoused,
Addictions,
Lost to follow up”
I feel it. That blend of anger & frustration I must control.
So ingrained had the fear of being wrong and embarrassed been smashed into his little head that he found the damnedest ways to cover up his errors. No, he hadn't miss-spelled several. He meant to write #serval. It's a rare cat, didn't you know? Sure Bobby, that's it. #vss365

Eight years ago I wrote a novel about a boy whose mother was convinced he would become a school shooter. She killed him instead. His name was Isaac. People scoffed, saying that there wasn't a need for novels like that, my dear #writerscommunity. I thought my second novel failed.
Tens years ago I wrote a novel about a downtrodden & suffering #Denver...and people scoffed, saying things weren't that bad. I was involved with #OccupyDenver at the time. I had to self publish it, my dear #Writerscommunity. My first novel. The Shiner. I thought my debut failed.
