There seems to be a concerted effort to always minimize the oppression and struggle of Black people around the world and the new talking point of the myth of the Irish slaves in an effort to say that not only blachas it bad

The Irish were never slaves. They were absorbed into whiteness alongside many other “ethnic whites” and that absorption came with a price of admission: slave patrols, overseers, Black codes, Jim Crow. And anti blackness

While indentured servitude was horrible and the Irish endured some grave conditions No indentured servant was ever legal property. No indentured servant was bred for profit at eleven years old. There is no version of this history where the math comes out even, and the people insisting otherwise aren’t confused. they’re lying, because the truth doesn’t get them what they want.

We don’t need to rewrite our history to make it matter. It already does.
