@FootballCliches@NickMiller79@JamesTMaw A BBC or ITV discussion - some group games could only ever be on one channel (Brazil v Morocco is nailed BBC and Australia v Turkey pure ITV). Either that or just some teams being more BBC or ITV than others, can you move between the two over time and why?
I think that international football is the best form of sport there is, and even I agree with this statement. This World Cup as a viewer is a tough sell for the group stage.
@PhilRugby@GeraintKemp I’ve never understood the standalone talk for Llanelli in the same way as Cardiff as from my memory growing up they were our de facto team anyway for top flight rugby. We were out in west Pembs but generally people were nominal Llanelli fans for European games at the very least
@PhilRugby@GeraintKemp Llanelli’s west Wales connection is quite long standing. I remember as a kid Llanelli coming down to Pembrokeshire Show in 2002 for the week, running a stand and giving out loads of Heineken Cup run merch. Had to look up the fixtures for the year as they were all on a t shirt!
Connor Roberts making it 2-0 at Euro 2020 against the supposed dark horses of the tournament, Turkey.
The tournament where Connor Roberts scored more goals than the golden boy, Kylian Mbappe. 🏴
If you think international football doesn’t hold a candle to club football, ask the fans of Wales, Scotland and Ireland how their weeks have been. A remarkable few days.
@JoeStephenson96 Sky terrified of scheduling Premier League games against the true meaning of Christmas, the PDC World Darts Championship, so they’ve moved all the games to January instead
@Colemans_Dream >lose more of those games than you can win. As an audition as a modern manager though, it’s what the top clubs and teams seem to be after for employability down the line. You don’t have to park the bus but the best teams are pragmatic and pick their moments and we don’t do that.
@Colemans_Dream The fact that Bellamy worked with Kompany at Burnley is very striking when you think about it - their relegation in 2023-24 was built on exactly the same frailties we have. It’s great playing attacking football but sticking to it resolutely against top teams means you’ll always>
Bellamy and Page 2 sides of the same coin. Resolutely stick to their way of playing even when it’s clearly not working. Lost to a better team and we’re not really good enough to qualify, we’ve got potential though if we’d just stop making things so hard for ourselves 🏴 #WALBEL
