Ramsbottom United are delighted to be able to announce that Rob Henry will take over as our new manager following Steve Wilkesβ retirement at the end of last season.
Rob, 38, holds a UEFA A license and joined the club last summer having previously worked as assistant manager at Lancaster City, FC United of Manchester and Bootle.
That was all after a 450+ game playing career in non-league for the likes of Lancaster City, Chorley, Bamber Bridge and Kendal Town, as well as a handful of appearances in Rammy blue back in 2018.
With the club just missing out in the play-offs again last season, keeping some continuity after Steve stepping down was imperative as we look to hopefully go one better next season and a return to the NPL.
βIβm delighted to be appointed as the new manager of Ramsbottom United F.C. following what has been a whirlwind few days,β said Rob.
βIβm excited for the challenge ahead and to build on the momentum and foundations built last season. There is a real togetherness around the club, which has been evident over the past few days, and Iβm looking forward to working closely with the players, staff, supporters and volunteers to continue driving standards forward and helping the team keep progressing.
βMy aim is to create an environment where everyone is aligned and working collaboratively towards the same goal β bringing continued success and pride to the football club.β
Weβre delighted to have you leading the Rams, Rob, and wish you every success in the seasons ahead.
Thanks @RamsbottomUtdβ¦.so close to achieving our targetβ¦would have loved to have stayed on but the circumstances arenβt right
Brilliant set of fans & fantastic group of players π
@stevewilkes1 congratulations on a brilliant career ππΌ
On to the next challenge β½οΈ
My time at @RamsbottomUtd has come to an end. This week has been a total shambles. You should only have to face opposition on the pitch, not from within your own club when you want to take the club forwards. The supporters of the club deserve better. π
Due to stuff going in in the back ground ive decided to leave @RamsbottomUtd there was only 1 man who i wanted to play for after the gaffer left but football is football, who wants a centre half?π

We are excited to announce the signing of 28 year old striker Rhys Turner.
Rhys is another player with bags of experience having played for clubs such as Oldham Athletic, Morcambe, York, Macclesfield Town, Barrow, Stockport County, Lancaster City and Bamber Bridge.
"After speaking to the gaffer, my mind was instantly made up", said Rhys.
"Hearing his ambitions and the plan for the club moving forward made me want to be a part of it and after taking a year out of football, I feel this is the right place for me.
"It always helps knowing Teagy, we're good mates and had a good relationship on the pitch so playing with and under him was a no brainer".
Manager Steve Wilkes added, "Another fantastic addition and a player I've known for a few years while watching his career with interest".
"I'm really looking forward to working with Rhys, he's a lad that's scored goals at whatever level he's played at and hopefully he'll continue that at Ramsbottom."
Welcome to Rammy, Rhys!
Incredibly proud of you @Jake_Daniels11 for this inspirational and courageous message!
All of Bamber Bridge stands with you and hope this supports and inspires others!
Football is for everyone π€π³οΈβπ
