1️⃣ The fact remains that COVID-19 is a significant public health threat – over 47,000 Americans died from COVID-19 last year.
That’s one death every 11 minutes, more than car accidents or breast cancer.🤯
@EamonMelia I disagree. They've learned very well that the taxpayers of ireland are not motivated to watch carefully where their money is actually going.
30 million excess deaths attributable to COVID is a tremendous underestimate because most analyses insufficiently account for mortality displacement.
In the U.S., it's about 50% worse than people realize.
@Becca_Roth People have lost the run of themselves. I believe they are scared to be the only ones sick to try to spread as much as possible. Good manners are few and far between.
@mayodweller@HMcEntee Too expensive. They are draining our taxes for other things, certainly not putting them into schools and hospitals or indeed any other service for the taxpayer. They are a disgrace.
@mayodweller I really have lots of questions about doctors these days. Know two older generation who died of Parkinsons in irish hospitals in the last while, neither had Parkinson's put on the death cert. A whole lot of strange obsfucation going on.
Wow this is just bonkers. The great charade of Covid goes on and continues to impact on people who need hospital care. What a disgrace our societies are.
Rampant Spread:

A new study out of Germany found that nearly 40% of elite athletes across several sports had reduced performance lasting >4 months after acute COVID-19. This was despite the majority having mild acute infections and none of the athletes having pre-existing health conditions.
@MichaelRynne1@jamesfightsback What a disgrace. Irish cancer patients should have access to every single therapy other EU countries have. People need to start asking why it's not happening. Not good enough.
🚨 EXC: @wesstreeting orders inquiry into how hundreds of children were misdiagnosed by NHS hearing tests. He tells The Sunday Times inaction by senior NHS leaders was "unforgiveable"

Remember the "mysterious" hepatitis outbreak in UK kids that baffled experts back in 2022? The one we were told was due to adenovirus (or even strawberries, allergies, and lockdowns)? The one that labeled ppl mentioning the C word as fearmongerers? Turns out it was #covid19 .
It’s just very frustrating how the media continues to try and force a dichotomy between “ppl who can be harmed by covid” (which is all the ppl who’ve been harmed so far) and “everyone else who can’t be” - this is not based on anything. It’s a total fiction

"The ongoing impact of covid infection is very real, but we still haven't managed the simplest mitigation for our children."
