Continuing #Meghalaya’s war against drugs, HCM @SangmaConrad led the High Level & District Level Drug Disposal Committee of @MeghalayaPolice to incinerate seized narcotic drugs & psychotropic substances worth ₹53.86 Crore at Star Cement Ltd.,Lumshnong,East Jaintia Hills District

In the run up to #MeghalayaDay and #RepublicDay2025 @RibhoiPolice distributed helmets to children, elderly people, ladies etc. as part of the awareness drive for Road Safety. Checking is on 24x7 to enforce double helmets for 2 wheelers and seat belts for LMVs.

Ri-Bhoi DEF team recovered 254.16 grams suspected Heroin from the possession of one Ekramul Hussain at 15th Mile, GS Road along with other suspects namely Nihar Begum and Monjuwara Begum. A cash amounting to Rs. 58,380/- and 4 mobile handsets were also seized.

On 09.12.2024, a Ri-Bhoi DEF team recovered 55.49 gms Heroin from the possession of one Darbalpuia Darlong (56), R/o Darchoi Ratiyabari, North Tripura traveling in a taxi. Suspect arrested. Case Registered. Investigation is on.

A review meeting was held today at Nongpoh PS to clarify the doubts and practical difficulties of the officers of the District on implementation of New Criminal Laws- 2023 and interaction cum briefing on the Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.

One Lane of the NH06 (Shg-Ghy) Road) near Umsning is closed for Traffic and has been converted to one way for now as there has been an oil spill in one of the lanes and driving over it can be dangerous . Efforts are on to get the spilled oil cleaned up

Today at around 03:05 Am District Police along with the team of ANTF of the district conducted Naka checking at Lumdiengngan, Umroi NH-44 and intercepted 2 (two) Pickup vehicles arrested 1 (one) person and seized 45 packets of marijuana contraband weighed 236.89 Kgs.
