The inspirational story of how a 47-year-old former NFL star, with two metal hips, went thru hell to become a Jacksonville police officer (@JSOPIO). #Jets https://t.co/N3m7FetC6K
On the assault allegation against Jets QB Geno Smith:
From the Davie (Fla) Police: Police responded to a call at Smith's home yesterday. No arrests were made.
A police spokesperson: "It is not an active case, but is still being reviewed before (a report) can be released."
#Jets are not commenting.

My #Jets stock report (based on OTAs and minicamp):
📈QB Geno Smith, RB Braelon Allen, WR AD Mitchell, WR Omar Cooper, Jr., WR/KR Isaiah Williams, CB D'Angelo Ponds, ED Kingsley Enagbare
📉QB Bailey Zappe, QB Brady Cook, PK Cade York
Note: No OLM/DLM, as it is difficult to evaluate them in padless practices.
A cool moment at the U.S. Open: James Nicholas, grandson of famed Jets orthopedist James Nicholas, enjoys a moment with his dad, Stephen, himself a former #Jets doctor. James was +1 after the first round, and Joe Namath was impressed.
New York native @_James_Nicholas hit Thursday's opening tee shot at the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills, but it was far from ceremonial.
Nicholas took the early lead with two birdies in his first six holes, and he steadied the ship after a missed 1-foot bogey putt at the seventh hole to sign for a 1-over 71, just three strokes back of early leader Sam Stevens.
Nicholas competed on the @KornFerryTour last week in Amarillo, Texas, before an adventurous trip to Long Island that included a 4-hour evening drive from Amarillo to Albuquerque.
Nicholas, who played collegiate football at Yale before turning his full-time attention to golf, was greeted by numerous fans and family members after signing his card Thursday.
One fan who wasn't on-site but followed along: former @NYJets quarterback Joe Namath, whose Jets team physician was Nicholas' grandpa. The elder Nicholas performed four knee operations that prolonged Namath's career.
After a strong start at Shinnecock, Nicholas could have a prolonged stay at the U.S. Open as well.
The Cowboys have agreed to terms with 3 UFL players: WR Denzel Mims, CB Ameer Speed, OL Chris Glaser, per sources. To make room, Matt Hennessy to IR and DB Corey Ballentine and WR Romello Brinson have been released. One roster spot remains open as training camp awaits.
.@BrandonTierney is ALL IN on the #Jets adding QB Brendan Sorsby.
‘I guarantee, I’m going to, that the Jets are going to put a bid in. I have no doubt about that. I guarantee it’s at least a 3rd rounder, & I’m not a reporter, but this is common sense, they’re going for it.’
‘A Namath guarantee,’ @JakeAsman responded with a smile.
@RichCimini said, ‘I wouldn’t guarantee that.’ 🤣

In 11 on 11: Geno Smith goes 2-for-3 in hurry up. Garrett Wilson makes a nice grab on a deep ball. Ball inside the 10, Mason Taylor drops a laser in the end zone, then Smith takes a sack (officials didn’t blow it dead; plays continues with Cisco INT). #Jets
Look, an interception! Rookie CB D’Angelo Ponds picks off Bailey Zappe in 7 on 7. Throws to Arian Smith. Tight coverage. Ball deflects straight up, Ponds makes the grab and takes off. Shades of the CFP. #Jets
Jets minicamp: QB Cade Klubnik, who didn’t practice yesterday, is back on the field but he’s not participating in positional drills. Standing behind the QBs and taking “mental reps.” #Jets
Jets OC Frank Reich with effusive praise for Geno Smith:
“I am just so impressed by Geno. I can not express that enough. Man, he is on point. His preparation is top notch. His football mind is elite.” #Jets
