Christian LA Dodgers star goes against his teammates and snubs pride night celebrations in controversial move
The Los Angeles Dodgers had another star appear to protest the team's pride night celebrations on Friday night, with pitcher Blake Treinen seemingly opting against wearing the rainbow cap donned by the rest of his team.
Treinen entered the game at the top of the ninth against crosstown rivals Los Angeles Angels. The "LA" on his blue cap was the standard white lettering, compared to the rainbow colors on the hats of all his teammates.
Treinen, 37, was only in the game for one pitch - forcing Oswald Peraza to ground out to end the inning - but it was still long enough for fans watching on to think he was making a point.
'Last night the Los Angeles Dodgers had their pride night as every player was wearing pride hats. Blake Treinen was not wearing a pride hat when he entered the ballgame,' one fan wrote on X, sharing footage of the pitcher making his way out onto the field.
It is, of course, not the first time a Dodgers player has seemingly positioned themselves against pride celebrations.
Last year, Clayton Kershaw wrote a reference to the Bible verse on his pride hat, next to the rainbow letters.
