Hello #CardioTwitter! I’m Antony Gonzales, a Peruvian IM resident applying this cycle for Cardiology fellowship. Grateful for mentors, patients, and communities that shaped my journey, and excited to grow in cardiovascular care, research, and advocacy.

Years ago, we left the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 carrying little more than our dreams and a willingness to work for them. Along the way came sacrifices, uncertainty, and challenges we never imagined. Today, seeing my wife graduate from Internal Medicine residency reminds me that every difficult step was worth it. Your resilience, dedication, and heart have inspired me every day. Congratulations, Dr. Karla De Jesus. The best is yet to come.

In my third and last piece reflecting on Arsenal's just ended season, I explore Leonardo DiCaprio's near-misses for Best Actor at the Oscars and how he eventually wins it. I also explore a quiet architecture of Biblical faith to highlight the moral dimension of the season.
💎 Why does prolapse volume matter?
🫀 MVP may impose a double volume burden on the LV.
🔴 Transvalvular MR enters the left atrium
🔵 Prolapse volume remains beneath the prolapsing leaflets
Both volumes return to the LV during diastole.
🎯 Prolapse volume may help explain disproportionate LV enlargement and MVP-related cardiomyopathy, even when MR severity appears modest.
A key concept introduced by @HeartToProve@DipanJShah@WilliamZoghbi and colleagues.
