•Be a Canadian citizen
•Be at least 18 years old on General Voting Day
•Be a resident of BC for at least six months before filing their nomination documents
•Not be disqualified by law

⚠️Skating Lessons Registration Issue

We've identified a system error causing some skating lesson listings to incorrectly show as full, when spots are actually still available. This is currently affecting children's and some preschool lessons. We're working to fix this as soon as possible.

The 2026/2027 Street Banner Contest is now open to community members of all ages and skill levels. Submit an original design inspired by the people, places, activities, and experiences that make Richmond unique! Eligible mediums include photography, digital art, collage, painting, illustration, and printmaking.

🏆 Winning entries will receive a $300 honorarium and a full-sized banner featuring their design. Selected artwork will also be displayed on streets throughout Richmond.

Heads up, cyclists! 🚲

In mid-to-late September, the George Massey Tunnel bike shuttle pick-up/drop-off stop at Rice Mill Road will move to the Steveston Highway southbound on-ramp to Highway 99. The exact day of change will be announced closer to the date.

All other shuttle aspects will remain unchanged. The move supports Fraser River Tunnel Project construction, delivered by TI Corp on behalf of the B.C. Ministry of Transportation and Transit.

🚗 Reminder: New 30 km/h speed limits are now in effect in Richmond residential neighbourhoods.

To help create safer, calmer, and more livable streets, 30 km/h speed limits have been established on local residential roads across nearly 50 neighbourhoods. If you see a posted 30 km/h speed limit sign, the new speed limit is in effect and enforceable, so remember to take care and drive safely.

We created a one-year Commercial Truck Parking Pilot Program to support the local trucking industry and improve the flow of goods across the region.

The pilot provides approx. 65 on-street parking spaces in the Fraserwood, Ironwood, Mitchell Island and Vulcan Way industrial areas.

🛶 In 1963, Japanese Canadian shipwright Mamoru Sakamoto built the Crystal S in Steveston, one of 16 boats he built after surviving forced internment during WWII.

Decades later, she fell into disrepair. Now she's being brought back to life by shipwright Dave Sharp, blending traditional Japanese and West Coast boatbuilding techniques.

The restoration work is open to the public, and this year the project won a Heritage BC award for being such an integral part in the preservation of Steveston's Maritime Heritage. 🏆
