Basildon & Billericay MP. Shadow Transport Secretary. Usually out campaigning in Westminster or on the ground for my constituents. Likes pubs & cooking roasts
So weak. If he spent more time in Parliament he’d see we’re beyond ‘conversations’
Nigel should catch up with @KemiBadenoch & @Conservatives who’ve already tabled laws & amendments to ban 1st cousin marriage.
It’s time for action with Conservatives not words from @ReformUK
Sweden has just banned cousin marriage.
It causes serious health problems in certain communities, and it's inherently un-British.
We must have a serious conversation about a ban in Britain, too.
This is the woman David Lammy wants to choose our judges.
She says merit alone should NOT determine judicial appointments.
“Merit is crucial but so is a focus on diversity."
Pure ideological tosh from Labour. Education is a public good and should never be taxed.
Labour imposed a punitive tax, there was no subsidy or discount.
By imposing a tax they squeezed and punished families, forcing schools into closure and imposing a greater burden on the state system. We are seeing this all over the country.
Even worse, Labour said they would deliver more teachers with this money but they have failed to do so.
You improve the education system by bringing standards up as the Conservatives did, not by punishing children and parents. Labour’s approach has hurt everyone.
The Public Sector Equality Duty means that public servants prioritise "anti-racism", instead of doing their jobs.
We saw this with Valdo Calocane. We saw this in Henry Nowak's case. We saw it with the grooming gangs.
Kemi is right. We must bring back equality before the law.
I have spent my political career fighting against identity politics when it came from Labour, Lib Dems, or the SNP, and I will do exactly the same against identity politics when it comes from Reform UK.
The answer to Black Lives Matter is not a White Lives Matter born of the same racial grievance.
To fix this the Conservatives will stand up for the silent majority who want order, fairness, common sense, and one law for everyone.
Labour's rail nationalisation risks putting vital discounts for veterans, military families and young people on the chopping block
Labour have already voted TEN times against protecting these railcards
@Conservatives will force a vote to safeguard them in law

You’ll have seen the great team from the #Billericay Food Bank out in town so it was great to be able to thank them for what they’re doing down at the warehouse.
It was also great to see how many local businesses are lending long term support to them too.
This is what I explained in my OpEd yesterday. I repeatedly warned the police not to bring in race action plans that treat groups differently.
Senior police chiefs ignored my advice preferring to get it from activists who I warned them wanted to DEFUND the police, telling me they were operationally independent.
I’ll be speaking tomorrow about how we sweep away this rubbish and bring back common sense.
At the 2024 General Election it was @Conservatives policy to keep the £2 bus fare cap for the entirety of this Parliament
After increasing it by 50% to £3 we can only hope that this will be Labour's next u-turn to bring them in line with the @Conservatives last manifesto

Labour’s war on drivers is about to get more expensive - for everyone who drives.
Labour are secretly doubling so called ‘clean air zone fees’ and extending what was meant to be a temporary scheme indefinitely. This isn’t about cleaner engines or cleaner air, it’s about using motorists as cash cows.
These fees are already are costing families dearly but instead of making life easier, Labour would rather pinch more of your money.

At #Kirkham and #Wesham station with @A_J_Snowden hearing about his campaign to get a passing loop on the South Fylde line, which could double the number of trains serving Lytham, St Anne’s and Blackpool South.
The Labour government scrapped the @Conservatives Restoring Your Railway fund set up, which could have funded this, so more than ever Fylde needs a strong local champion like Andrew to speak up and campaign with his superb local councillor team
This wasn’t something that happened years ago and anyone could have forgotten about.
It is clear that Darren Jones deliberately lied.
As such he should have already been sacked by the Prime Minister, unless the Prime Minister doesn’t care about his ministers being honest.
🚨New: Fresh Labour infighting has broken out over Darren Jones’ future
Jones met a small number of female Labour MPs amidst the anger of his Mandelson messages - but two in the wider party have called on him to go
Jones’ supporters rallied behind him last night, with one telling @SkyNews he was the victim of a ‘character assassination’ coming from rival leadership camps
Story with @AliFortescue
Happy resignationversary @ZiaYusufUK 🎂
That time a year ago when you said that working to get a Reform government elected was 'no longer a good use of my time'.
One of the few times I've agreed with you.

Recently I was delighted to celebrate the new office opening of @BluebirdEssex in #Laindon, alongside their inclusive dementia community award given to them by @alzheimerssocfor the way they support the community and people with dementia.
A huge congratulations to Bluebird!
Out on the doors in #Orrell#Makerfield with our brilliant @Conservatives candidate @Winstamike talking all things transport including accessibility at Orrell station. Something Mike has campaigned on, written about and which TFGM aren’t interested in.
Michael was a great councillor & is a good bloke, as anyone who watched @bbcquestiontime last night could see. He deserves your support.
In April, Darren Jones denied sending a 'warm message' to Mandelson on the day he was sacked, claiming it was along the lines of 'I don't know what's going on...'
His actual message: 'You’ve been doing such a great job, and you worked wonders with Trump. I’m so sorry about today'
I attended the #Billericay District Residents Association’s AGM recently to speak to them about my work as the MP for #BasildonAndBillericay.
Alongside speaking about my work locally and some of the things I’ve been up to, I also fielded several questions from constituents.
Thank you to all the local residents for your time!
BREAKING: Even Keir Starmer's Chief Secretary Darren Jones admits he doesn’t have confidence in Rachel Reeves to grow the economy.
Text messages continue to reveal what Labour will tell Peter Mandelson, but refuse to admit to the British people.
It has formally happened to another road scheme as Labour revoke the Development Consent Order (DCO) for £100 million the A47 scheme in the East of England which would have seen an important section of dual carriageway put in.
@paulbristow79 is rightly furious as are local people at Labour's continued anti-growth war on motorists
