The message I received after finishing The Return years ago was that it will never be what we wanted and that it was futile to hope we could go back.

Sometimes horrible things happen in life that can never be changed or undone.

I saw Fire Walk With Me at a local theater recently. Weird to rewatch it after all these years. In the past, I focused on the supernatural and surreal aspects of it.

Recently, it hit more like an incredibly sad tragedy.

The final scene of the movie where Dale has his hand on Laura's shoulder and she's laughing and crying when she sees that the angels didn't leave her was the true end to the story.

@RealisticPoetry Depends. There's not a simple and accurate answer to this question. Also, in my experience, pain is always imbedded within love, but there are plenty of pains in life that are loveless. Oddly, I think I've grown nearly the same amounts from both despite the complexity.
