This combined with the new CSC lawyer hire today to investigate and enforce make it sound like we may see some action coming. Bigger question is whether penalties can withstand legal scrutiny.
@BCHL_Alberta Which is why I predicted that players would come back. I didn't say it was the best thing, though for some they will be stunted in their development because they can't handle it mentally and emotionally.
@pschneids111@Pete___Hughes@collectsdecks@tcgold3n@SchlossmanGF Every level has this. Who is guilty? Not always the team, many times the family/advisor demands it or they will go elsewhere. Less of an issue now, as NCAA and Jr A leagues were the threat that was given.
This won't and shouldn't be limited to players who are struggling. Some will relish in the struggle and others will need a regroup. All of it is OK. Also, Josephson should have stayed in the WHL, no matter what the opinions are around the why. @Pete___Hughes@SchlossmanGF
Compare this to what Zegras did last night. That is why coaches don't respect Zegras, and neither do most players. He plays soft. He can only take a cheap shot. Count how many current NHL coaches are on the ice. Their teams won't want Zegras. Ever.
@OHLoffthepuck I don’t understand why some guys want to cut off their own runway… Everyone should see it as a benefit that they can stay in junior for as long as possible and then still have 4 years of college to get ready for the NHL instead of grinding in the minors. Should dominate b4 movin
@Pete___Hughes@sopasofan@SchlossmanGF Agree with you. That is my opinion but there are some kids who might thrive moving up. I don't know that you want to play 15 mins a night for 38-42 and maybe be scratched a few rather than 25 mins for 68. Games are important parts of learning.
@IanGustafson12@Pete___Hughes@SchlossmanGF I wouldn't let my kid leave. If he doesn't have the ability to work through this, he probably isn't made for pro hockey either. The majority of hockey families don't prepare their kids for these inevitabilities, so many will bail.
The look on Zegras' face when Acciari gets up tells you all you need to know about how tough he really is. Sheer terror. Zegras will never live up to his hype, because he's a wimp, and wimps can't make it.
@ClankoMedia@jr_on_juniors He should have removed himself as soon as he knew that charges were coming. It was reported Jan 2 and his legal team would have been aware of the process.
@clintgc There is an argument for that. It depends on your development curve at 18/19/20, all determined after being drafted. I can envision players who have signed their ELC being allowed to play NCAA in the next year as well. Signing bonuses are basically NIL if they don't play games.
