The AIU has banned Jamaican jumper Carey McLeod for 2 years for whereabouts failures. McLeod won World Indoor Long Jump Bronze at the 2024 global championship in Glasgow, Scotland. He recently returned to train in JA from Arkansas where he was previously based.

The automatic standards for the 2027 World Athletics Championships are the toughest ever including 9.95 for the men's 100m & 10.96 for the women. World Athletics says it is hoping for 40 percent of athletes to qualify by standard and the other 60 through the World ranking system.
