@FoodProfessor The whole purpose of a carbon tax is to make pollution more expensive and thus drive innovation and adoption of non-GHG energy sources. Why are you even debating this? Get with the program.
@DavidHamer_1951@PierrePoilievre@JustinTrudeau Does Poilievre ever stop and think about the consequences for him personally of normalizing this kind of "protest" if he ever becomes PM? More basically, does he ever stop and think?
@ClimateNate Will never make full transition until everyone can afford the car itself and on top of that save money thru life of car. Need big subsidies now for EV-Corollas, not luxury EVs.
@ClimateNate Agree piece is biased but it still drove home key issue. EVs will not be widely accepted until avg prices come down to same level as gas cars
@acoyne OK, @acoyne will support working people losing jobs and homes and struggling to feed families so that people in his income bracket can sleep peacefully knowing the current wealth distribution in Cda will be protected. Good to know.
@TheHerleBurly@acoyne 2/ and @Coyne/Wells/Napier arguments all totally limited to TO/Ott/Mtl pundit bubble. No-one from Maritimes or BC would be so complacent or glib about need for reliable national media of record, or willing to make CBC a pay-per-view business.
@TheHerleBurly@acoyne V disappointed in Herle Berle discussion - Wells/Napier/Coyne all ducked Herleโs great questions about the info commons, market failure re media provision of fact-based journalism. Curse panel this week far better in addressing these issues.
@SenatorHousakos Cdn taxpayers paying you huge salary to say stupid stuff. Liberal policies caused it, but when inflation comes down to lowest level in G7, gov't gets no credit. As you say, it's "complex". I.e., way too complex for a Tory senator to figure out.
@KarlDHarrison I looked up the word "plonker" in the Oxford dictionary of slang. It's derived from the French "un plonqueur", meaning a guy who wears stupid hats.
@AndrewScheer As leader of your party you had one main job: defeat Trudeau in the federal election. You utterly failed. Only in Poilievre's CPC would you still be allowed to spout so much BS.
@theJagmeetSingh So NDP is now going to follow GOP/CPC tactics and make every govt policy you disagree with, including provgov policies, evidence of the personal moral failings of the PM? If so, Iโm burning my NDP membership card.
@bruceanderson@JustinTrudeau Interesting comparison between this true dialogue and Poilievreโs dishonest monologues and chat with a pine 6 x 6. The next federal election will be a national IQ test.
@belle_levesque@JenniByrne@CurseOfPolitics CPC/UCP playbook
1) We pose for pics with every bigot we can find
2) We then deny having seen the tee-shirts
3) Then celebrate! We're rocking the bigot vote
4) Then worry: can we win if only bigots vote for us?
@natnewswatch@IvisonJ@nationalpost Being the journalist of impeccable professional integrity and non-partisan objectivity that you are, you will have a column tomorrow apologizing for getting the facts wrong and your ill-informed and biased language about "leisurely Liberal response"?
