@KevinSmith18481@MATTFiNGAZ That’s ok, its not like we’d be playoff bound with our current roster. Our future depends heavily on the development of MBJ & Egor.
Egor specifically needs to be featured way more next season. Dont see how thats possible with presumably 3 other high usage players
@JfromBk@SAINTNET1 I’d argue he’s been competing against Claxton for the starting job and won
Team chose Sharpe over Claxton. Now they’re giving him a chance to prove them right or wrong
He’ll have this year to prove it and if not, they’ll go after a starting center
@KevinSmith18481@MATTFiNGAZ If MPJ is willing to take a team friendly contract and take a backseat to Randle, MBJ, and Egor I’m all for keeping him around
If not, I rather move on from him now while his value is at his highest
@GoneInSP@MATTFiNGAZ Fair. If he’s willing to take $30/yr & play the role he played in Denver than I think he’d be good for the rooks
We need Egor & MPJ to switch the roles they played last season. MBJ needs to be an alpha
You think MPJ is ok with being 4th option?
@GoneInSP@MATTFiNGAZ Right now our starting lineup is liking a defense presence. Swapping MPJ for a low usage defensive wing would help develop the young guys on that end
@GoneInSP@MATTFiNGAZ MPJ didnt proudly get the name “Never Swing the Rock” for no reason
Its about not having guys like Egor be the 4th option. Forcing him into an alpha mentality
Randle being the hub is enough to help young guys grow on offense
@MATTFiNGAZ Yep. Maybe its possible l w/ MPJ but I think itll be easier for Egor & MBJ to take more of an alpha role on offense w/ only Randle on the court
Last yr it felt everyone deferred to MPJ which was fine for their rookie years but not this yr
Team is only going to get better by taking some swings and chances in trades and the truth is the team has the flexibility to do that because it has so many picks! They cannot keep adding 2-3 rookies every single year. It leads to the rookies they already have not developing.
I understand we have no incentive to tank, but the goal for this year and next year should be to add real players that will be on this team in 4, 5 years. That is what makes Trey Murphy or even Santi Aldama appealing. They are good young players that can grow with the rookies
@TonezSports What’re we going to do with the 4 1sts we have the next 2 years?
We can’t possibly bring in more rookies without giving up on a few of the young guys we have now
@brooklynnets85 Fucking pumped to listen to how its important to keep force feeding MPJ in spite of development to get the best package for him at trade deadline then offseason then 2028 deadline and so on
