International students contribute billions of $ to Canada's economy every year and pay taxes, just like everyone else. They deserve to be treated the same as other students. Call your MP tonight to let them know intl students must be included in the #CESB https://t.co/ocfUTgz0qS
@mahakal370 @Satyamevajanate@IndiainUkraine@MEAIndia It was never the students' faults. They were misguided by their Universities and agents. Even Indian Embassy had only given statement that whoever's purpose of stay is not essential may leave Ukraine temporarily. There's difference between "may" and "must".
URGENT ADVISORY TO ALL INDIAN NATIONALS IN KHARKIV.
FOR THEIR SAFETY AND SECURITY THEY MUST LEAVE KHARKIV IMMEDIATELY.
PROCEED TO PESOCHIN, BABAYE AND BEZLYUDOVKA AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
UNDER ALL CIRCUMSTANCES THEY MUST REACH THESE SETTLEMENTS *BY 1800 HRS (UKRAINIAN TIME) TODAY*.
@Satyamevajanate@IndiainUkraine@MEAIndia The Embassy had only said Indians whose purpose is not essential could leave Ukraine temporarily. Honestly, nobody had predicted such a large scale invasion. The Embassy has information about all individuals, but they didn't ask students to move out from Kharkiv.
For students stranded on the left side of Dnipro, there are metros and buses functioning which can be used to move to the train station for onward movement.
Weekend curfew lifted in Kyiv. All students are advised to make their way to the railway station for onward journey to the western parts.
Ukraine Railways is putting special trains for evacuations.
@ashishgaur2075 @IndiainUkraine@MEAIndia@DrSJaishankar@PMOIndia I'm not saying anything against the government. But the fact is it's relatively easier to help students in Western Ukraine. Transportation is closed in Kharkiv, so the students can't make it to the European borders. The Embassy should think of ways to get them some help.
Today afternoon more than 470 students will exit the Ukraine and enter Romania through the Porubne-Siret Border. We are moving Indians located at the border to neighbouring countries for onward evacuation. Efforts are underway to relocate Indians coming from the hinterland.
In the face of Russian aggression, Canada stands with Ukraine.
That’s why Canada will donate approximately $7.8 million in lethal weapons and support items to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Canada’s support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity is resolute.
Today, we announced additional financial assistance for Ukraine – as well as military equipment and ammunition to help Ukraine defend itself, and to deter further Russian aggression. The bottom line: Canada’s support for Ukraine remains steadfast. https://t.co/GmpEwwTlz2
