@JulieFrost3 It was only 6 weeks for me before I adopted Pip. I know those 10 weeks and 3 days have felt like a lifetime of just empty space. The rainbow bridge allocation committee had a meeting, and decided you’re the safest place for them to land.
@Albertspanner Pip did that to me on Tuesday, took off after a scent, wouldn’t recall, had a blast in the farmers field came back after 10 mins extremely pleased with herself. We’re almost 3 months in so obvs feeling settled. 🙄🫣
@Zwoddergirl Yes, Pops was in Librela, she could have 2 jabs with Vet Nurse, but 3rd jab had to be given by Vet to confirm no changes/issues. Before that she was on Previcox and needed to be seen every 3 months. I thought it was the norm & didn’t question it.
@Albertspanner She’s fallen into the routine no issues at all, now like Pops, even pees when asked 🫣; 2 weeks ago was peeing inside. Not sure if this is a springer thing but she boops the back of my knees when she does follow me
@Albertspanner She’s a conundrum, hard to tell if she’s been a pet or a “failed” gundog. She’s had some sort of training. Doesn’t follow me around, will watch but was scared to come into the kitchen whilst I’m pottering. Is a cuddle monster, now loves a squeaky toy.
@Albertspanner Brilliantly. She’s settled amazingly well. Sleeps whilst I’m at work. She can still scare quite easily, usually concerning doors. Hyper fixated on scents, can’t recall her off a good one even if I’ve got roast chicken skin so still on a long line.
@Bestestgundog It is. Her name is Pippa, she’s 3.5. High prey drive so on a long line. Excellent recall in a secure field with no distractions. No retrieve to hand. Terrified of a slip lead, so currently still in the harness she came with. We’re going to have so much fun.
